Event Report – ND Live at Gorham NH 2024 July 4th Spectacular – Main Parade (Acoustic Performance)
BY RYAN BYRNE
July 4th, 2024. It was a fantastic day in Gorham, NH. This was the first time Nostalgic Distortion (ND) played in Gorham in nearly 30 years! In fact, ND’s first show ever was played at Gorham High School sometime in 1995.
The Big “Thank You”!
Even a relatively simple acoustic performance like this in a parade in small-town-America takes effort on behalf of a lot of people to put together, so here are a few of the “Thank You’s” I’m remembering as of the time of this writing, though I know I inadvertently will leave some out. Thank you to:
- Shaun Gross for filling in on percussion with us since Marc Sheehan needed to make an emergency trip to Massachusetts to be with family
- Bob Byrne for the use of “Pete” (our Peterbilt flatbed tow truck) as our rolling stage and the wonderful, quiet Honda generator to power our PA system
- Ryan Christopher at Northern Albrite Signs for squeezing “Pete” in to replace the worn out lettering on the side of the door with spiffy new lettering in time for the parade
- Casey Byrne for washing & shining up the flatbed truck on such short notice
- The Berlin Sun for publishing our press release about the parade performance complete with a fantastic full-color photo!
- Wally Corrigan for completing our float registration paperwork for me at the last minute so that we could officially be part of the parade
- Robert Burnham for doing such a fantastic job driving “Pete” nice and smoothly through the parade while we were performing
More To Come!
I have more pics and videos of our parade performance to upload. So check back soon!
