After 31 Years Tim Hazelton Takes Indefinite Hiatus From Nostalgic Distortion
PLYMOUTH NH: Nostalgic Distortion guitarist / co-frontman Tim Hazelton has announced he is taking an indefinite hiatus from the band after 31 years. The official written statement from Tim reads as follows:
“After 31 years, I have decided to take a hiatus from Nostalgic Distortion. I fully support the band in their future endeavors and I love them like brothers. From the frats at Plymouth State, to bars across New England, to the livestreams at Chez Hazelton, it has been a great time. Thanks to all the fans and friends.”
Tim has been a part of Nostalgic Distortion (ND) since it’s very first live incarnation in early 1995. Co-founder Ryan Byrne says of Tim, “He has been by my side for every single ND performance since our very first show”. Ryan added that ND is a part of his very identity, and that he and drummer Marc Sheehan plan to continue on with the band. “It will take some time to figure out what ND without Tim Hazelton will look like. ND has always been a part-time endeavor. With our live performances being as sporadic as they are, for the foreseeable future I may hire guest guitarists on a show by show basis.”
Don’t think that you won’t be seeing Tim’s face on ND’s website and social media, however. With over three decades of released and unreleased content in the vaults, Ryan will be adding pics ,videos, and other promotional material of ND with Tim for years and years to come.
Ryan also encourages everyone to check out Tim’s solo live performances around the state of NH, as he will continue going out to see Tim perform as usual when he is performing in Bethlehem or other locales close to the Berlin-Gorham area.
