GORHAM, NH: The annual Nostalgic Distortion ONE ROCK Benefit Concert is back under a new name for 2026. It is being incorporated into the Ryan Byrne Band at the Medallion Opera House concert on Friday, October 16th from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. For the first seven years of the event (2013 – 2019), it was a live, full electric show at the band’s old stomping grounds, the Lucky Dog Tavern in Plymouth, NH. The band donated 50% of the show proceeds to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF). Starting In 2020, due to Covid, the show changed gears and became a free virtual livestream concert for the next 5 years – where the band accepted online donations and continued to give at least 50% of the proceeds (and oftentimes 100%) to Breakthrough T1D. For 2025, Byrne was attempting to once again return the annual concert to a live, full electric show, this time at the Medallion Opera House in his hometown of Gorham, NH. However, what would have been the 13th annual ONE ROCK concert was canceled due to the departure of long-time guitarist Tim Hazelton after 31 years with the band.
After taking a year to regroup, Byrne is once again bringing back the annual benefit show, though this time it will be under the name of the Ryan Byrne Band, and the additional proceeds after a base band fee will benefit the non-profit Gorham Medallion House. Ryan will be joined on guitar by his original Nostalgic Distortion co-founder, Chris Peters, and on drums by mutual friend, Kurt Ekstrom – both of whom are veterans of the Concord, NH area music scene. The Ryan Byrne Band will perform several Byrne-penned Nostalgic Distortion originals, as well as other Byrne originals, and popular covers spanning the genres of rock, folk, and country.
